A matter of time.
Everyone was going to have to fess up to how many calories, how much fat, how much sugar…was buried within their menu items. And ultimately, be forced to offer at least some lower-impact eats for those seeking them.
The Cheesecake Factory is all in now courtesy of USA Today. Their marketing people have come up with a “SkinnyLicious” menu. Of course, this means food lower in calories than what they normally serve…which won’t be too hard to plate up.
The article indicates if the Cheesecake Factory folks are offering more healthy alternatives we may be getting to the point everyone will. Two quotes to leave you with on their business decision:
Bruce Horovitz, USA Today – “But this move by Cheesecake Factory is the cosmic equivalent of Chuck E. Cheese adding a quiet zone.”
David Zinczenko, co-author of “Eat This, Not That.” – “It used to be the only way you’d get out of Cheesecake Factory eating fewer than 600 calories was if somebody pulled the fire alarm.”
