1. Have always been taken back at how this nation turned a singular Mexican army victory into a May St. Patrick’s Day. Mexico turned back French soldiers, for heaven’s sake. Who couldn’t do that?
2. The television ads for the pharmaceutical industry continue relentlessly and I have finally reached my limit on “_____ is not for everyone.” Then they proceed to tell you so many side effects and potential issues you realize that _____ isn’t for ANYONE. People who write the copy for these things are on drugs.
3. Local minor league baseball team is having a “Senior Day Game” where the start time is 9:35 AM. I guess the assumption is whomever is a “Senior” is up well before then…like it is their lunch time or something. Did anyone think players might not want to be starting at 9:35 AM? And as for being a “Senior” I’m still trying to figure out what that elusive number is. We have a paper that has a weekly segment called “Fifty Plus.” Is fifty “Senior?” Why are all the “Senior” housing ads in the same paper telling me I have to be fifty-five to qualify? I think whomever is in charge of the “Senior” age is showing theirs.
Happy May 5th.
